Demulcent Astringent, Refrigerent Laxative and Local Parasiticide.

Uses:

This is a popular remedy for, cough, coryza, hyasthma bronchial infectious and diseases of the respiratory passages also given for worms, bowel-complaints, It is used as-paste with sugar in gonorrhoea and other venereal diseases. In spasmodic dyspnoea due to asthma. bronchitis of the old people, emphysema and pulmonary cardiac disease, angina pectoris, for the above complaints, fluid extract or the tincture is most suitable.

இது ஒரு சிறிய செடி. இதை சித்திரபாலாடை என்றும் கூறுவர் மழைக்காலங்களில் மிகுந்து வயற்புறங்களில் காணப்படும். இதில் சிறிய பெரிய என இருவகைகளுடன் சிவப்பு வெள்ளையென பிரிவுகளும் உண்டு. ஆனால் அனைத்து வகைகளுக்கும் மருத்துவ பயன் ஒன்றே. இதன் சாரத்தால் சித்தவைத்தியர்கள் வெள்ளியை பற்பமாக்குவார்கள். ஆஸ்துமா, கபநோய், வாய்ப்புண் போன்ற நோய்களுக்கு மருந்துகள் தயாரிக்கும்போது இதனை துணை மருந்தாக சேர்த்துக் கொள்வர்.

இச்செடியை ஒடித்தால் இதனின்று பால் கசியும். இப்பாலை முகப்பரு, கால் ஆணி போன்றவற்றிற்கு நேரிடையாக பயன்படுத்தலாம். கீழாநெல்லி இலையையும் அம்மான் பச்சரிசி இலையையும் மைபோல அரைத்து எருமைத்தயிருடன் சாப்பிட்டால் இந்திரிய ஒழுக்கு நிற்கும்.
