Parts used :

Seeds, juice, leaves and oil.

Constituents:

Seeds contain fixed oil. Oil contains Jatrophic acid.

Action:

Seeds are Acro-narcotic. Oil from the seeds is Purgative, internally and externally it is Depura-tive and Antiseptic. Leaves are Lactogogue locally.

Uses:

Seeds yield a pale yellow oil which is used as purgative and refrigerant. Externally it is an ideal remedy for itch, herpes and eczema; also it is a cleansing application for wounds sores and ulcers.

ஆமணக்கின் எண்ணெய், இலை, வேர், முதலானவற்றின் குணங்களே இதற்கும் பொருந்தும்.விசேஷமாக இதன் இலை, பால், விதை, எண்ணெய் முதலானவைகள் வாதவலி, பல்வலி, வெள்ளை வெட்டை, கொருக்கு கட்டி முதலான வியாதிகளில் பயனாகும்.
