Bark and unripe fruit.

Action:

Herpetic, Bitter, Laxative, Cooling, Anthelmintic, Demulcent. Fruits are Antiromatic.

Uses:

This belongs to the family of banian tree. The seeds are bitter in taste. This is generally consumed along with ghee. The tender seeds are used in the medicine to treat intestinal ulcer, dysmenarrhoea, rheumatism leprosy, obesity.

இத்தி ஆல் வகுப்பைச் சேர்ந்தது. இதனை சுவி என்றும் சொல்வதுண்டு. துவர்ப்புச் சுவையுடையது. இதனை நெய்விட்டு வெதுப்பிச் சாப்பிடுவது வழக்கம். இதன் பிஞ்சை அரைத்துச் சாப்பிட்டால் அதிசாரம், பெரும்பாடு, ஆகியவை நீங்கும். குஷ்ட நோய், வெள்ளை போதல், ஊனைச் சரீரம் முதலான நோய்களுக்கு ஆக்கப்படும் மருந்துகளில் இது துணை மருந்தாக செயல்படுகிறது.
