Rich in Vitamin C. Oil contains Citrol, Pectin Citric arid and Anti-Sosrbutic acid.

Action:

Fruit Refregerent, Stomachte, Appetizer and Antiseptic

Uses:

The leaves, fruits, and the fruit juice of this tree are medicinally valuable: The fruit is used widely for cooking. If this is used regularly it gradually cures mental disorders. The fruit is an apetizer, and relieves belching. It is also used as anti-emitic. The toxicity of other medicines could be reduced with this, If used regularly, it prevents skin ailments, This is rich in vitamin “C”. The fruit juice taken along with any medicine will enhance the action of the drug.

For the treatment of gonorrhoea the preparation of the medicine is as fallows. The soaked seed of Pedalium murex. (Anainerunji) should be made a paste and to the quantity of abetelnut. Add mixture of lime juice and same quantity of cow’s butter milk. This mixture to be consumed for seven days. This is an, ideal cure of gonorrhoes, and also for treatment of jaundice,

எலுமிச்சை மரத்தின் இலை, காய், பழம், பழத்தின் ரசம் அனைத்துமே மருத்துவச் சிறப்பு உடையது. எலுமிச்சம் பழம் சமையலுக்கு பெரிதும் பயன்படுத்தப்படுகிறது. இவைகளை முறைப் படி உட்கொண்டுவர பைத்திய நோய் படிப்படியாக குறையும். எலுமிச்சை பசியை உண்டாக்கும். வயிற்றிலுள்ள வாயுவை அகற்றும். மயக்கம்,வாந்தி, குமட்டல், நீர்வேட்கை, பித்த உஷ்ணம், திாநோயும், பித்த மயக்கம் ஆகியவை நீக்கும்.

நாம் உட்கொள்ளும் மருந்துசளின் உஷ்ணத்தை ஓரளவு குறைக்கும். கண்நோய் காதுவலி ஆகியவற்றை நீக்கும். அடிக்கடி இதனை உணவில் சேர்ப்பதனால் கொரி, கரப்பான் (Scurvy) போன்ற நோய்கள் வராது. இந்நோய்கள் விட்டமின் ‘C’ குறைவினால் உண்டாகின்றது. எலுமிச்சம் பழத்தில் விட்டமின் ‘C’ மிகுதியாக உள்ளது.

இதன் பழச்சாறை எந்த மருந்துடன் உட்கொண்டாலும் அதன் விரியத்தை அதிகப்படுத்தும். ஆனை நெருஞ்சி விதையை ஊறவைத்து அரைத்து ஒரு கொட்டைப் பாக்களவு எடுத்து ஒரு கண்ணாடி டம்பளரில் போட்டு எலுமிச்சம் பழச்சாற்றுடன் சமஅளவு பசுமோர் சேர்க்கவேண்டும்.  இதை ஏழு நாட்களுக்கு காலை வேளையில் சாப்பிட வெட்டைநோய் பூரணமாக குணமாகும். மஞ்சள் காமாலை, மூலம், இரத்த ஒழுக்கு முதலிய தோய்களை குணமாக்குவதில் இது  சிறந்ததாகும்.
