It is Styptic, Stimulant, Demulcent, Diuretic and Carminative.

Uses:

The extract of this plant is used in the medicine for cough asthma etc. The decoction prepared from the seeds of this plant is ideal medicine for urinary disorders. This is sometimes used to cure veneral disease also. The extract of the leaves are used as anti-inflammatory and analgesic. If this extract is taken internally it cures abdominal-spasm and Stomach ache. The extract of the seed mixed with honey is given to children to stop vomiting. The oil extracted from the seeds are used as mosquito repellent also.

இது துளசி வசைவைச் சேர்த்த ஒரு செடியாகும். இத்துளசி யிலைச் சாற்றை இருமல், காசம், மூச்சிரைப்பு முதலியவற்றிற்கு மருத்துகள் தயாரிக்கும்போது அதனுடன் உபசரக்காகச் சேர்த்துக் கொள்வார்கள். இதன் விதையிலிருந்து தயாரிக்கப்படும் கஷாயம் மூத்திரத்தாரைக் கோளாறுகளுக்கு பயனாகிறது. சில சமயங்களில் வெட்டை போன்ற நோய்களுக்கும் இந்த கஷாயத்தை பயன் படுத்துவார்கள்.

இலைச்சாற்றை விக்கமான கை, கால்களுக்கும், தோல் தடிப்பு, கரப்பான் போன்ற நோய்களுக்கும் பயன்படுத்தலாம். வயிற்றுவலிக்கு இவ்விலைச் சாற்றை நேரிடையாகச் சாப்பிட்டால் உடனடியாக தீங்கும். குழந்தைகளுக்கு ஏற்படும் வாத்திக்கு இச்செடியின் விதையை தேனு பன் அரைத்துக் கொடுக்க வாந்தி நிற்கும்.

இதிலிருந்து எண்ணெய் வடிக்கப்படுகிறது. இந்த எண்ணெய் இருமல் மருந்துகளிலும், ஆவியாதல் மூலம் கொசு கொல்லும் மருந்து அட்டைகளிபயன்படுத்தப்படுகிறது.
