Uses:

This is a twiner plant. The fruit is fleshy and oblong in shape. Leaves and Seeds are very useful. The fruit is very useful in cooking. This has a property of increasing salivery secretions. This is effective in piles and other similar conditions, but this accumulates phlegm. For skin ailments like Scables and ulcers, it is very effective if taken internally.

கக்கரி தரையிலும், பந்தலிலும் கம்பிகளிலும் படரும் ஒரு பருவக்கொடி, இதன் காய் நீண்டு தடித்து உருளையாக பல அளவிலும் வடிவிலும் இருக்கும்.

சுக்கரிக்காயின் இலையும், விதையும் பயன்படும் உறுப்புக் களாகும். சுக்கரிக்காய் சமையலில் பயன்படும் பச்சடிபயிர். இது சிறுநீர் பெருக்கியாகும். மூலச்சூாடு, இரத்தபித்தம், இவைகளைக் குறைக்கும். ஆனால் கபத்தையும் குளிர்ச்சியையும் உண்டாக்கும்.

இதற்கு முள்ளன் வெள்ளரி என்று ஒரு பெயரும் உண்டு. சிரங்கு, சொறி முதலிய நோய்கள் இருக்குங்காலத்தில் இதை உள்ளுக்கு உணவாகக் கொள்ளலாம்.
