Uses:
Kernel is used as a tonic and paste made out of it in conjunction with the powdered horns of sambhar deer and the seeds of strychnos nuxvomica is applied to enlarged glands. For diabetes it is used to reduce the blood sugar level. Kernel is ground with honey is used to check vomiting. A decoction of the fibrous husk is reported to bring down urinary sugar level in diabetic patients. But the effect is temporary
இது மதுமேகம், நெறிகட்டி இவைகளை குணமாக்கும். கடல் தேங்காய், மான்கொம்புத்தூள், எட்டிவிதை முதலியவற்றை 2:1: 1/2விகிதத்தில் எடுத்து அரைத்து வீக்கங்களுக்கு வைத்துக் கட்டிவரச் சுகமாரும்.
இத்தேங்காயை தண்ணீரில் வேகவைத்துக் கஷாயமிட்டு இனம் 50 ml அளவு அருத்திவர மதுமேக நீரின் சர்க்கரை குறையும். இதைத் தேன்விட்டரைத்து நாக்கில் தடவிவர வாந்தி நிற்கும்.
