Herb is Bitter, Stomachic, Stimulent, Alterative, Pectoral and Demulcent. Root is Anthelmintic.
Uses:
Juice of the plant is useful in liver and gastric disorders. The paste of the herb mixed with oil is applied in itching. The powdered seeds and roots are given as an anthelmintic. The decoction of root is useful in piles. Leaf juice is boiled with milk and sugar candy is used in the treat-ment of cough. It is also used in glandular swelling of the neck and in jaundice.
இதன் சாரம் கல்லிரல் மண்ணீரல் நோய்களை குணமாக்குவதாகும். உடல் நமைச்சலுக்கு இச்செடியை அரைத்து பற்றுப் போட உடன் குணமாகும். வேர்க்கஷாயம் மூல நோயை குணமாக்கு கிறது. இதன் இலைச்சாற்றுடன் பால், வெல்லம் சேர்ந்து கொடுக்க இருமல் குணமாகும். இது மஞ்சட் காமாலையை குணப்படுத்தும். மேலும் இதன் இலைச்சாறு, அக்கினி மாந்தம், காசம் சுரப்பான் போன்றவற்றிற்கு சிறந்ததாகும். இதன் இலையை நிழலில் உலர்த்திப் பொடித்து சூரணமாக பயன்படுத்த வித்து நஷ்டத்தை ஈடுகட்டலாம். மேலும் இது உஷ்ணத்தினால் தோன்றும் வாந்தியை நிறுத்தும்.
