Action:

Seeds are Anthelmintic, Diuretic and Diaphoretic. The oil has an Irritant and Specific effect on the skin and mucous membrane. In ayurveda the seeds are described at Laxative. Fragrant, Stimulant and Aphrodisiac.

Uses:

This is useful in skin diseases. Oil is extracted from this seed. This oil diluted with chalmogra oil, forms a useful application in leucoderma. Seeds ground into paste mixed with cow’s milk used for skin diseases such as itches, psoriasis, leprosy, eczema, ringworm etc., and also in snake bites and scorpion sting. Seeds increases appetite.

Seeds mixed with the seeds of Hygrophila spinosa are powdered and made into a paste with coconut oil. it is useful in skin ailments.

இது சிறந்த மலமிளக்கியாகும். இதனை அதிகம் உட்கொள்ள காம இச்சையைத் தரக்கூடியது. இதன் இலை சருமநோய்களை குணமாக்கும், இரைப்பைக்கு வலுவைத் தரும் விதை எண்ணெய் பல மருத்துவப் பயன்களையுடையது. இந்த எண்ணெயை சால்முகரா எண்ணெயோடு காந்து வெண்குட்டத்திற்கு பூசலாம்.

விதைகளை பசும்பாலில் அரைத்து பாம்பு விஷம், நமைச்சல், ஆனைச்சொறி, குஷ்டம், கரப்பான். இரணம், முதலிய சருமநோய்களுக்கு மேலே தேய்த்துக் குளிக்க குணமாகும். தேள்கடிக்கும் இந்த உபயோடுக்கலாம்.

இய்விதைகளை நீர்முள்ளி விதையுடன் சேர்த்து தூல்செய்து தேங்காய் எண்ணெயுடன் கலந்து தடவ சிரங்குகள் குணமாகும்.
