Diuretic, Laxative, Stomachic, Demulcent and Emollient.

Uses:

This has many medicinal properties. This give lusture and smoothens the skin. It is normally given along with other pulses to cattles to obtain more milk. This plant has many vitamins, mineral and calcium. It is a good appetizer. This increases the body heat and acts as diuretic. The paste of this plant could be used as an external application for odema and boils. The charred root also could be used for the same purpose. This is also an effective antidote for snake-bite, scorpion- sting etc. This is used in the calcination of the gold-

இக்கீரை பல மருத்துவ குணங்களை உடையது. தோலிற்கு மென்மையும், அழகும், பளபளப்பும் கொடுக்கும். இதனை பயறு வகைகளுடன் அரைத்து தீவனமாக மாடுகளுக்கு கொடுக்க அதிகப்பால் கொடுக்கும்.

இக்கீரையில் பல வைட்டமின்களும், முக்கிய தாதுக்களும் சுண்ணாம்புச் சத்தும் உள்ளது.

இக்கீரையானது உள் அழல் ஆற்றவல்லது. பசியைத் தூண்டி உணவை ஏற்கும் ஆற்றலைக் கொடுக்கும். இது வெப்பத்தை உண்டாக்கும். மேலும் சிறுநீரைப் பெருக்கும்.

கீரையை அரைத்து வீக்கம், கட்டி இவைகளுக்குக் கட்டினால் அலைகள் கரைத்து போகும்

வேரைச்சுட்டு சாம்பலாக்கி கட்டிகளுக்கு வைத்துக் கட்டகட்டிகள் உடைத்து கீழ் வெளிப்பட்டு புண் ஆறும்.

மேலும் இக்கீரை பாம்புக்கடி, தேள்கடி, போன்ற சகல விஷங்களையும் நீக்கும். மலத்தை கட்டும். தங்க பன்ப முறையில் இதனைப் பயன்படுத்துவர்.
