வெண்கீரைத்தண்டின் அதே குணங்களே இதற்கும் உண்டு. மேலும் இது பித்தம், மேகச்சூடு, ரத்தபேதி, பெரும்பாடு ஆகியவற்றிற்கு குணம் தரும்.

இதன் இலை மட்டும் சிவப்பு கலந்த பச்சைநிறமாக இருக்கும். தண்டு சிவப்பு நிறத்துடன் காணப்படும். பெண்கள் அடிக்கடி இதன் தண்டை சாப்பிட்டுவர சிறந்த முறையில் மாதாந்திர தொல்லைகளிலிருந்து விடுபடலாம்.
