Bark contains tannin and carthartic acid. Root contains resin and tannic acid.

Action:

Diuretic, Stomachic and Cooling

Uses:

The root and barks are of medicinal use. The paste of the bark is used as an external application for the piles. The root, if taken internally it cures inflammation of the liver and piles. Root bark decoction cures diabetes.

இதன் வேரும் பட்டையும் மருத்துவ பயனுடையது. கைப்புச் சுவையுடையது. வேரை அரைத்து பற்றுபோட மூலநோய் குணமாகும். வேரை உள்ளுக்கு சாப்பிட்டு வர கல்லீரல் வீக்கம், மூல நோய் போன்ற நோய்களை குணமாக்கும். வேர், பட்டை கஷாயம் நீரிழிவு நோயை குணப்படுத்தும்.
