Constituents:

Santaline or Santalic acid, a crustalline red principle, santal pterocerpin, and pterostilbine.

Action:

Mildly Astringent, Cooling. Tonic and Diapho retic.

Uses:

This is an ideal medicine tor haemorrhoids and bleeding piles. This is a coolant and reduces oedema. The wood paste is useful in treating burning and irritant eyes. Then the paste is applied with honey it cures boils and feruncies.

இது இரத்த மூலம், இரத்தப்பெருக்கு ஆகியவற்றிற்கு மருந்தாகப் பயன்படுகிறது. இது குளிர்ச்சியை உண்டு பண்ணுவதால்  வீக்கங்களுக்குத் தடவ குணமாகும். இதன் கட்டையை அரைத்து கண் நோய்களுக்கும், கண்ணெரிச்சலுக்கும் தடவ குணமாகும். இதை தேனுடன் சேர்த்து கொப்புளம், கட்டி போன்றவற்றிற்கு தடவ குணமாகும்.
