Constituents:

This resin is known as Storax’. This is the mixture of Cinnamic aldehyde, benzaldehyde

Action:

Bitter, Expectorant, Carminative, Tonic, Sto machic and Antiscorbutic.

Uses:

There is a resin secreted from the bark of the tree. This cures cold, spasmodic conditions, phlegm and asthma. This is also used in treating inflamed testioles, ring worm, eczema etc. This is refrigerent and relieves phlegm. The secreted milk if consumed strengthen the teeth.

சிலாரஸ் என்பது நெரியரிசி மரப்பட்டையிலிருந்து வழியும் பிசின் போன்ற பொருளாகும். இதை சவதோஷம், தனுர்வாதம், சந்தி, பீளசம் சிரசு தாபம். கபம், காசம் இவைகளுக்குக் கொடுக்க. குணமாகும். மேலும் இது ஆரம்ப நிலையிலுள்ள விரை வீக்கம். வயிற்றுவலி, படர் தாமரை, சொறி சிரங்கு ஆகியவற்றை குணப் படுத்தும்.இது உடம்பின் உஷ்ணத்தை போக்கி கபத்தை அறுக்கும் இதன் உறைந்த பாலை மெல்லுவதால் பல்லிருகும்.
