Fruit is Expectorant and Carminative. Leaves and root are Purgative.

Uses:

Leaves, root, fruit of this climber are said to possess medicinal properties. Unripened fruit gives relief from rheumatism and acts as an appetizer. Leaves and root are purgative. Dried fruits if taken regularly cures wheezing, dyspepsia and cough.

சுக்கங்காய்க் கொடியின் இலை, வேர், காய் யாவும் மருத் துவப் பயனுடையது. காயால் வாத நோய்கள் போகும். திக்குற்றத்தை மிகுதிப்படுத்தும். சுவையின்மையைப் போக்கும். இலையும், வேரும் பேதியாகச் செய்யும். காயை வற்றல் செய்து சாப்பிட இரைப்பு, குன்மம், இருமல் இவைகளை நீக்குவதுடன், சிறந்த உணவாகவும் பயன்படுகிறது.
