Elaeodendron glaucum

Parts used:

Leaves, root and bark.

Constituents:

Bark contains resin and tannin. Ash contains calcium carbonate and calcium oxalate.

Action:

Bark is strong Astringent. Resin is Anti-dote.

Uses:

It is a tree with small yellow flowers. Root is an anti-dote for snake bites. Root-bark is made into a paste with water and applied externally for swellings.

சிறியமஞ்சள் நிறப்பூக்களையுடையது செலுப்பைமரம். இலையும் பட்டையும் துவர்ப்புச் சுவையுடையது. இதன் வேர் பாம்பு கடிக்குஉதவும். வேர்ப்பட்டையைத்  தண்ணீரிலரைத்து  வீக்கங்களுக்குப்  பூச வீக்கம் வடியும்.
