Bark, leaves, seeds, root and bark.
Constituents:
Emodin and chrysophanic acid.
Action:
Bark, leaves and seeds are Cathartic. Root is-considered Expectorant. Leaves are Antheli mintic and Antiseptic.
Uses: The seed and leaves are used in treating ringworm, eczema, indigestion, ricket fever. This also cures nsect bites, chronic pruritis, boils due to extreme heat etc.
பெரிய தகரையின் விதையும், இலையும் படர்த்தாமரை, மந்தம்,எலும்புருக்கிச் சுரம் இவைகளைப் போக்கும். மேலும் வண்டுக்கடி, கடுவன், நாட்பட்ட நமைப்புடை, அனல், அக்கி போக்கும்.
