Plant is Antidysenteric and Anthelmintic- Seeds are Tonic and Aphrodisiac. Fruit is Diuretic and Diaphoretic. Root-bark is Vermifuge.
Uses:
Seeds if taken regularly acts as aphrodisiac. The mixture of powdered seeds with ginger cures ulcers. Tonder leaves flowers and buds are dried and powdered if consumed cures dysentery. Decoction of root bark cures liver ulcers and it is used as mouth wash to cure stomatitis.
திருவாத்தி ஒரு குத்துச் செடியாகும். இக்குத்துச் செடியின் மலர்கள் வெளிர்மஞ்சள் நிறமுடையது. இதன் விதைகள் உற்சாகத் தையும். தாது விருத்தியுமுண்டாக்கும். வயிற்றுப் புழுக்களைக் கொல்லும், இதை காடியுடன் கலந்து விஷப்புண்களுக்குப் போட வாம். இலைக் கொழுந்து பூ, மொக்கு இவைகளை உலர்த்திப் பொடித்து சீதபேதிக்கு கொடுக்க குணமாகும். வேர்ப்பட்டையைக் கஷாயமிட்டு கொடுச்சு ஈரல் வேக்காடு தணியும். இக்கஷாயத்தைக் கொண்டு வாய்க்கொப்பளிக்க வாய்ப்புண்கள் குணமாகும்.
