Stem, leaves and flowers.

Constituents:

Stems and leaves contain tannin, a non-crystal-line organic acid and an alkaloid soluble in ether.

Action :

Diuretic, Emmolient and Anodyne.

Uses:

Leaves resemble the mint leaves. To treat tuberculosis, its leaves along with cumin 6 pepper is ground and consumed in the size of a marble along with 200 ml. of goat’s milk for forty days. This cures tuberculosis. But during this medication cigerrate, alcohol, coffee and tea should be avoided.

Its leaves and turmeric are made into a paste is used as an application for boils and bruises. If the juice of the leaves is rubbed where the scorpion has stung it acts as an antidote.

தேள் கொடுக்கி இலை புதினா இலையைப் போன்றிகுருக்ம். காச நோயை அகற்றுவதில் இதன் பங்கு சிறந்ததாகும். இதன் இலையுடன் சிறிதளவு சீரகம் 6 மிளகு சேர்த்து அரைத்து நெல்லிக்கா யளவு சாப்பிட்டு 200மிலி அளவு ஆட்டுப் பாலுடன் தொடர்ந்து 40 நாட்கள் சாப்பிட காசநோய் குணமாகும். இம்மருந்தை உட் கொள்ளும் பொழுது சிகரெட், மது, காப்பி, டீ ஆகியவற்றை சேர்க்கக் கூடாது.

இலையுடன் சிறிதளவு மஞ்சள் சேர்த்து அரைத்து சொறி, சிரங்கு, புண் ஆகியவற்றிற்குத் தடவ சிறந்த குணம் கிடைக்கும்.

தேள் கொட்டிய இடத்தில் இதன் இலைச்சாற்றை விட்டுவர விஷம் இறங்கும். மயில்துத்தத்தை பஸ்பமாக்கும்.
