Constituents:

Seeds embedded in the pulp of its fruits, yield an oil. Dark contains large amounts of tannin.

Action:

Alterative, Stimulant, Detergent, Parasiticide. Antizyphilitic and Emollient.

Uses :

The seed and the oil of the seed exhibits many medicinal properties. Kernel of the nut is emetic. Oil is very viscous. This is used as an external application for leprosy. The powdered outer skin of the seed mixed with vinegar is an ointment for eczema and ulcers. Fruit exhibits tranquilising action. Powdered seed cores itching due to arthritis. Powdered seeds is also used as ointment for skin ailments The decoction made out of Neem bark, barkof Pungamia glabra, wiry indigo along with the oil of this seed mixed with sugar if taken regularly it cures skin diseases. With the kernel boiled in the milk, dried and powdered. Sugar and ghee are mixed with the powder. If this is of this seed, dried ginger, ginseng, sarasaparilla, china root are consumed regularly it cures psoriasis and many other skin diseases. The seed improves fertility in men.

இது நீரடிமரத்தின் விதையாகும். இல்விதை எண்ணெய் பல மருத்துவப் பயன்களையுடையது. இக்கொட்டையின் உள் சதைப் பற்று குமட்டலையுண்டாக்கும். இதன் எண்ணெய் மிகவும் தடிப்பா யிருக்கும்.இது குஷ்ட நோய்க்கு மேலே தடய உதவும். விதையின் மேலோட்டை தூள் செய்து எண்ணெய் அல்லது காடியில் குழைத்து பூச கால் சிரங்கு, சொறி சிரங்கு தீரும். பழத்தைச் சாப்பிட மயக்கத்தை உண்டு பண்ணும், விதையை சூரணித்துச் சாப்பிட வாதநோய் நமைச்சல் தீரும்.

விதையை பொடித்து மெழுகு சேர்த்துச் சருமநோய்களுக்கு தடவ ஈணமாகும். வேப்பம் பட்டை, பூவரசம்பட்டை, சிவனார் வேம்பு இலைகளை இடித்து கஷாயமாக இறக்கி அத்துடன் விதை எண்ணெயை சேர்த்து காய்ச்சி வடித்து சர்க்கரையுடன் கலத்து தொடர்ந்து சாப்பிட சருமநோய்கள் யாவும் தீரும்.

இப்பருப்புடன் சுக்கு, அமுக்கிரா, நன்னாரிவேர், பறங்டுச் சக்கை இவைகளைப் பாலில் அவித்துக் காயவைத்துச் சூரணித்துச் சர்க்கரையும், தெய்யும் சேர்த்து லேகியமாக சாப்பிட சருமநோய்கள் யாவும் திரும்.

மேலும் விதை மலட்டுத் தன்மையை நீக்கும்.
