Bark is Astringent, Tonic and Febrifuge.
Uses:
This tree resembles Asoka, so some persons call in Asoka by mistake. The infusion of the hark is useful in treating diarrhoea, and dysentery. Bark soaked in vinegar for one day and to be filtered. This filtered water is used to wash nisers and wounds. This bark is also used to reduce palpitatotion
ஒங்கி வளர்ந்த இம்மரத்தை சிலர் “அசோகமரம்” என்று தவறாகக் கூறுவர். இது துவர்ப்புச் சுவை யுடையது. இதன் பட்டையை குடிநீரிலிட்டுக் குடிக்க கிராணி, அதிசாரம், சீதபேதி, போன்ற நோய்கள் நீங்கும். பட்டையைக் காடி நீரிலிட்டு ஒரு நாள் ஊறவைத்து வடித்த நீரால் புண் புரையைக் கழுவ அவை குணமாகும். மேலும் இப்பட்டை குடிநீரைப் பயன்படுத்துவதனால் இதயத்துடிப்பு மட்டுப்படும். மேலும் இதன்பட்டை சுரத்தை குறைக்கும்.
