Uses:

This is a rejuvenator. This is black in colour and this blackness of the fruit is due to the chemical change in earth. Some sidha practitioners grow this plant with the help of marking nut. The marking nut is mashed well without handling it with fingers and river bed soil is added with this and it is filled and sealed in a carthern pot and burried. After sis months the earthern pot is taken out and gooseberry plant is planted. This plant is said to exhibit many medicinal properties. The stem and more fruits of this plant is black in solour. This is used to treat billous diseases. This also exhibits the medicinal properties of common gooseberry

கருநெல்லியை காயச்சித்தி மூலிகையென்பர். அபூர்வமாக இயற்கையின் இரசாயன மாற்றங்களால் ஏற்படும் நிகழ்வுகளே இத்தகைய கருப்பு நிறத்துடன்கூடிய காய்களை தோற்றுவிக்கிறது. இதை சித்தர்கள் ஆய்ந்தெடுத்து அதன் மருத்துவ பயனை பலவாறாக பயன்படுத்திக் கொண்டதுடன் அதே இயற்கை இரசாயன மாற்றங்களை மண் கலவையில் ஏற்படுத்தி கரிய நிறங் கொண்ட இலை, காய், கனிகளைக் கொடுக்கக் கூடிய மரம். செடி, கொடிகளை உண்டாக்கினார்கள். எவ்வாறெனில் சேராங்

கொட்டையை கைப்படாமல் இடித்து அதன் எடைக்குச் சமமாக வண்டல் மண்ணைக் கலந்து, ஒரு மண் பாத்திரத்தில் இட்டு சீல் செய்து புதைத்து விடுவார்கள். ஆறு மாதங் கழித்து அதை எடுத்து தமக்கு வேண்டிய சிறிய அல்லது பெரிய மூலிகைச் செடிகளை அம்மண் தொட்டியில் நட்டுப் பயிராக்குவார்கள். இயற்கையாகயிருக்கும் நிறத்தைவிட இப்படி வளர்க்கப்பட்டால் அச்செடி கரியத்தண்டுகளுடனும், கரிய இலைக் காம்புகளுடனும் காணப்படுவதுடன் அதன் விதைகளும் கனியும், காயும் கூடக் கருப்பாகவே தென்படும். இம்முறையிலே வந்ததுதான் கருநெல்லி என்று சொல்லப்படுகின்றது.

இது பித்தாதிக்க நோய்களில் சிறப்பாக செயல்படுவது தவிர. பொதுவாக நெல்லியின் குணங்களே இதற்கும் உண்டு. ஆனால் வீரியம் அதிகம்.
