Ichnocarpus frutescens

 (N. O. Apocynaceae)

Habit:

Climbing plant

Parts used:

leaves roots and fruit.

Constituents:

it contains an eild allied to cinchotannic acid. red colouring matter, rezin, a small quality of soumaris and a causachons like substance

Action: 

Root is alternative, tonic diuretic and diaphoretic.

Uses:

Stalk and leaves are used like country sarasa-parilla. Decoction of this is used in treating akin eruptions and fever Uses are similar to Hemidesmus indica.
