Action:

Bark is Tonic, Carminative and Febrifuge. Gum is Stimulant. Fruit is Astringent, Stomachic. Refrigerant, Antiscorbutic and Cooling.

Uses:

Fruit of this small tree is rich in vitamin ‘A’ and exhibits medicinal properties. This gives relief in thirstyness, internal heat and bleeding piles. It is used in the of tamarind in making curries. This is also used in the form of pickles. Fruit juice removes the stains in the clothes. Juice of the ripened fruit mixed with water and sugar is made into a sharbat. If taken one teaspoon daily, this given relief in fever secompained by thirstyness.

புளிச்சங்காய், இதில் விட்டமின் ‘A’ சத்துள்ளது. இது ஒரு சிறிய மரம். இதன் காய் மருத்துவ தன்மையுடையது. இது நீர்வேட்கை, வெப்பம் இவைகளை அடக்கும். இரத்த மூலம் போகும். இதன் காயை புளிக்குப் பதில் கறி வகைகளில் சேர்ப்பர்.இதை ஊறுகாயாகச் செய்து சாப்பிடுவதுண்டு. துணி களில் பற்றிய கறைகளை இது போக்கும். பழுத்த பழத்தின் இரசம். நீர்,சர்க்கரை இவை மூன்றையும் எடுத்து எடுத்து, சிறு தீயிட்டு எரித்து மணப்பாகு செய்து. அதில் ஒரு கரண்டி வீதம் கொடுத்து வர சுரதாகம் நீங்கி, சுரமும் தணியும்….
