An essential oil.

Action :

Root is Cooling, Demulcent, Carminative. Diaphoretic, Diuretic, Refrigerant. Anti-dysenteric, Styptic, Antipyretic, Astringent, Stomachic, Aromatic and Anti-rheumatic.

Uses:

Herb and root possesses musk like odour. Infusion of the root gives relief in fever, thirstyness, burning urination, cough and indigestion. This acts as diaphoretic and febrifuge. Decoction of the herb cures dysentery, bloody stools and haemarrhages. This also cures rheumatic pain and pelvic pain. Decoction of the herb if taken regularly improves eye sight. Leaves and young shoots are used as an emollient.

செந்தொட்டியில் கஸ்தூரியின் மணம் சிறிதளவு பொகுத்தி யிருக்கும்.இதன் வேரைக் குடிநீரிட்டு சுரம், நீர்வேட்கை. சிறுநீர், எரிச்சல், இருமல், மாந்தகணம் இவைகளுக்குக் கொடுக்கலாம். இது வியர்வையைப்பெருக்கி, சுரத்தைத் தணிக்கும். மேலும் வாதவலி, தவலி, இடுப்புவளி, இடுப்பு பிடிப்பு குணப்படும். மற்றும் சீதபேதி.ரத்தபேதி, ரத்தபோக்கு, முதலிய நோய்களைக் குணப்படுத்தும். கண்ணொளி பெற்று, பார்வை சீராகும்.
