Expectorant and Astringent.

Uses:

Juice of the leaves mixed along with cows.. urine if consumed, cures cough, wheezing, bronchitis, catarrt of the nose etc. This also helps to expectorate, phlegm, chesh pain, dyspepsia, difficulty in breathing, intestinal gas forma-tion and biliousness.

Boiled rice is soaked in water and then ground along with this leaves and salt. This mixture is used to make food like “Dosa”. If this is taken along with ghee gives relief from bronchitis and cough. Powdered root infusion checks vomiting and chest pain. Oil extracted from the plant prevents greying of hair.

முகமுகக்கை எங்கும் பயிராகும் ஒரு வகை கொடி. இதன் இலை இரசத்தில், சிறிது கோரோசனை சேர்த்துக் கொடுக்க இருமல், கோழை, இரைப்பு, நெஞ்சிற் புகைக்கம்மல், மூக்கில் தீர்ப் பாய்தல் தீங்கும். மனோவலிமைத் தரும். நாற்றம் வீசும். கோழை,

மார்புவலி, குன்மம் நீக்கும், சுவாச தோஷம், வாய்வு, பித்தா திக்கம் முதலியவை போகும்.

ஊறவைத்த புழுங்கலரிசியுடன், இவ்விலையையும் சேர்த்து அரைத்து, சிறிது உப்புக் கூட்டி அடைச்சுட்டுக் கொடுத்து வர கோழைக்கட்டு, இருமல், ஈளை நீங்கும்.

வேரை உலர்த்திப் பொடியாக்கி அல்லது குடிநீரிட்டுக் கொடுக்க, வாத்தி, மார்பு நோய் முதலியன நீங்கும்.

இதிலிருந்து வடிக்கப்படும் தைவம் இளம்தரை, தலை வழுக்கையைப் போக்கும். இது வளரும் குழந்தைக்குச் சிறந்த மூலிகையாகும்.
