Tectona grandis

(N. O. Verbenaceae)

Habit:

Tree

Parts used:

Bark, wood and fruit.

Constituents:

Wood contains deposits of calcium phosphate, silica and ammonium and magnesium phosphate,

Action:

Paste of the wood is Diuretic, Auringen. Hepatic and Stimulant.

Uses:

The wood powder is used in treating headaches of all types, if taken internally it reduces the burning satios of the stomach and it also agis as an anthelmintic

The sharcoal of this is mixed with the juice of the popps send and sued as an external application in inflammation of the eyes. The oil of the bark is med in treating itching of the skin.

இம்மரத்தின் தூளைப் பசையாகக் காய்ச்சி, பித்த தலை வலி, வீக்கத்தை கரைக்கவும்,பித்தாதிக்கத்தினாலேற்படும் வயிற்றின் எரிச்சலுக்கும், வயிற்றுப் பூச்சிகளை கொல்லவும் உபயோகப் படுத்துவர். இதன் கரியை கசகசாவின் பாலோடு குழப்பி, கண்ணிரப்பையின் வீக்கத்திற்குத் தடவ குணமாகும்.

மரப்பட்டை எண்ணெய் உடம்பின் நமைச்சலுக்குத் தடவ குணம் தரும். இம்மரத்தின் காயை தூளாக இடித்து பெண்களின் நிதம்பத்திற்கு கட்டுகட்ட மூத்திரத்தை வெளிப்படுத்தும்.
