Action:

Flower, Leaf and Bark are Tonic and Astringent. Seeds are Referigerant and Attenuant. Root in Decoction is used as Alterative.

Uses:

Seeds are powdered and blown into the eyes or the powder mixed with coconut or gingelly oil is applied to the sore eyes. “Seeds are also used in diabetes and chyluria” The plant is used in the form of powder mixed with honey or the decoction especially of flower buds, is adminis tered in chylous urine and diabetes for excellant results. Leaves are used as a substitute for tea.

Flowers are used as pessries by women to check excessive menstrual flow. Infusion of bark is used for enema, as a substitute for tannic acid, or oak galls, Compound syrup is prescribed for nocturnal emissions.

உப்புப்பூத்தல், கற்றாழை நாற்றம் ஆகியவையும் நீங்கும். உடம்பும் பொற்சாயலைப் பெறும்.

இதனுடைய பட்டை கஷாயம் சாப்பிட சருமத்திற்கு ஒளி தரும். நீரிழிவுத் தீரும். இதன் பூவைக் கூட்டுச் செய்துச் சாப்பிட மூத்திர சம்பந்தமான நோய்கள் குணமாகும். வெள்ளை வெட்டைத் தீரும். குளிர்ச்சியைத் தரும்.

ஆவாரை இலை துவர்ப்புச் சுவையுடையது. சீதம் இதனுடைய வீரியம். இந்த மூலிகை சிறுநீரில் உள்ள சர்க்கரையைக் குறைக்கும். மற்றும் ஆண்குறி எரிச்சல், வெள்ளை, உட்சூடு, அதிதாகம் போன்ற பிணிகளை அகற்றும்.
