Habit:

Climber

Parts used:

Immature berries, and riped berries and stem.

Constituente:

Resin, volatile ell, gum, fatty oil and an alka laid piperine.

Action:

Infusion is Stimulnant, Carminative and Aliera-tive, Tonic. Seeds are more powerful than Black pepper. Seeds are Aphrodiziac, Diuretic.

Vermifuge and Emmenagogue. Externally they are Rubefacient and roots are Stimulant.

Uses:

Seed of this climber exhibits medicinat property. Small variety is more powerful than the others-Mixed with dried ginger and pepper it cures asthma, phlegm. tuberculosis, flatulencs, cold catarrhal affections etc., This mixture is made into a electuary, cures difficulty in breathing. colic, abdominal dropsy, fever and dropsy. Mixed with dried ginger cures sore throat, venereal ulcers, head ache, phlegmatic disorders, dyspepsia and fever.

Root of the climber also exhibits medicinal properties, This is yellow in colour. This cures fainting, difficulty in breathing, aversion of food and urinary diseases. This also cures skin diseases if used externally. Powdered mixture of this with ginger and black pepper if inhaled cures drowsiness and coma. Long pepper with its root cures paralysis, morbid fever, rheumatism and hiccups. It checks the bleeding and fever in the case of women after child birth. This acts as an anthelmintic to children. This along with dried ginger is boiled in mustard oil and the oil is used as an external application to treat sciatica and paraplegia.

திப்பிலிக்கொடியின் விதைகள் பல மருத்துவப் பயன்களை அடையது. அரிசிதிப்பிலி மிகக் காரமாயும் விறுவிறுப்பும் வாசனையுமுள்ளது. இதை சுக்கு மிளகோடு சேர்த்துத் தினம் சாப்பிட்டு வர காசம், கோழை, சயம், வயிற்றுப்பொருமல். நீர்க்கோவை இவைகள் போகும். இதன் லேகியம் சுவாசம், வயிற்று பெருவயிறு, சுரம், பாண்டு இவைகளைக் குணப்படுத்தும்,

திப்பிலியுடன் சுக்கு சேர்த்து உட்கொள்ள தொண்டை சம்பந்தமான எல்லா நோய்களையும் குணப்படுத்தும், மற்றும் மேகக்கட்டி, தலைவலி,கபநோய்,குன்மம், காய்ச்சல் போன்ற. நோய்களை விலக்கும்.

திப்பிலிமூலம் என்பது திப்பிலிக் கொடியின் மூலம் சிறு முடிச்சுகளுடன் நீண்டு மெல்லியதாகவும், வெளுத்து மஞ்சள் நிறமாகவும் இருக்கும்.இதனால் மூர்ச்சை, சுவாசகாசம், அரோசகம், பிரமேகம் இவைகள் போகும். இதனால் முகத்தில் உண் டாகும் கருத்த மச்சம், சிவப்பு மச்சம் போகும்.

சோம்பன் மயக்கங் கொள்ளுங்காலத்து இதைச் சுக்கு மிளகோடு சேர்த்து தசியமாக உபயோகப்படுத்துவதுண்டு. இதைத்திப்பிலி மூலத்தோடு சேர்த்து பாரிசவாயு, சூலை, வாதப்பிடிப்பு இடுப்புவலி முதலிய நோய்களுக்குப் பயன்படுத்துவர். பிரசவித்த வர்களின் இரத்தப்போக்கையும், சுரத்தையும் நிறுத்த இதை உபயோகப்படுத்துவர். குழந்தைகளுக்கு உள்ளுக்குக் கொடுக்க வயிற்றுப்பூச்சிகளை அழிக்கும். இதைச் சுக்குடன் சேர்த்து கடுகெண்ணெயிற் கொதிக்க வைத்து, தொடைவாயு,இடுப்பின் கீழுள்ள திமிர் வாயுவுக்கும் பூச குணப்படும். குங்கிலியம் சேர்ந்த திப்பிலிக்காரம் முடக்கு வாத நோயை துரிதமாக குணமாக்கும்.
