Kerential oil, glucoside and chrysanthemin.

Action:

Laxative, Stimulant, Carminative and Tonic.

Uses:

There are three types of flowers, yellow, white

and blue. The root and flowers are of medicinal value. The root of this when chewed give tingling sensation to the tongue. Pepper is mixed with this plant extract and made into a decoc-tion. This decoction is used to treat gonorrhoea. This relieves giddiness and refresh the eyes. This helps the eye lashes to grow well. This improves intelligence. Ammenorrhoes. neurasthenis could be treated with this. Oil is extracted from its flower. This oil is used in rheumatoid arthritis. sprain and nervous pain.

இதனை செவ்வந்திப்பூ அல்லது சிவந்திப்பூ என்றும் கூறுவர். இது மஞ்சள், வெள்ளை, நீலம் என்ற மூன்று நிறங்களில் காணப் படுகிறது. இதன் வேரும். பூவும் மருத்துவ குணமுடையவையாகும்.

இதன் வேரை மெல்ல விறுவிறுப்புண்டாகும். இதை மிள கோடு சேர்த்துக் கஷாயமிட்டுக் கொடுக்க மேகவெள்ளை குணமாகும்.இச்செடி, தலைச்சுற்றல், மயக்கம் நீக்குவதுடன் கண்ணுக்கு. ஒளியுண்டாக்கும். கண் இரப்பை ரோமங்களை செழிக்கச் செய்யும். புத்தி தீட்சண்யம் தரும். சூதகக்கட்டு, சூதகசந்நி, குடைச்சல் முதலியவற்றைப் போக்கும்.இதன் பூவிலிருந்து எண்ணெய் எடுக்கலாம். இது சுளுக்கு. கீல்வாதம், நரம்புவலி ஆகியவற்றிற்கு குணம் தரும்.
