Bark and leaves.

Action:

Astringent, Emolliant, Herpatic and Anti-syphillitic and Curative of Raktadosha and Pralaba.

Uses:

Decoction of the bark is used as a gargle in salivation; as a wash for ulcers and also as an injection in leucorrhoea. As a vegetable the leaves can be eaten for the cure Raktapitta.

இதன் பட்டை குஷ்டம், கிரந்தி, படர் தாமரை, சரும நோய்கள் ஆகியவற்றைக் குணப்படுத்தும், இதைக் கஷாயம் செய்துச் சாப்பிட வேண்டும். இதன் இலையை கீரைப் போன்று சமைத்துச் சாப்பிட இரத்தத்திலுள்ள பித்தம் குறையும். வெள்ளை ஒழுக்கினை குணமாக்கும்.

இதில் பேய் இச்சி (Ficus retusa) என்ற ஒரு வகையுண்டு. இதன் குணங்களும் இச்சியுடன் ஒத்திருக்கும்.

இதன் பட்டைச்சாற்றைக் கொண்டு வாய்க் கொப்பளித்தால் வாய்ப்புண் ஆறும், வாயில் நீர்சுரக்கச் செய்யும்.
