Dates are Expectorant, Aphrodisiac, Tonic, Demulcent, Laxative, Diuretic and highly Saccharine.

Uses:

Water in which fresh dates are soaked for a. while is a drink given to relieve alcoholic intoxication. Infusion made of fresh dates and milk is a very nourishing drink to children as well as adults. Dried fruits mixed with almonds, spices, pistachia nuts, and sugar forms a nutritious suppliment. It is used as an aphrodisiac and tonic.

Dates are useful in asthma also. The roasted seed powder is used to make a beverage like coffee and is known as date coffee. It relieves bileous affection and is a laxative.

இதன் கள் நரம்பு தளர்ச்சி நோயை உண்டு பண்ணும். பதநீர்,மலபந்தம், நீர்தோஷம், பித்தரோகம் முதலியவற்றை நீக்கும். இதன் பழத்தில் விட்டமின் “E” சத்தும். “B” சத்தும் இருப்பதால் புணர்ச்சி சக்தி குறைந்தோர் பாலுடன் இதை உண்டு வரின் புணர்ச்சி சக்தியை கூட்டும்.

உமிழ்நீரைப் பெருக்கும். மதுநீரைப் போக்கும், பசியைத் தூண்டும். பேரீச்சங் குருந்தை புசிக்க குன்மம், வலி போகும். இம்மரத்தின் உச்சியின் நடுவில் கிழங்கைப் போன்ற வெண்குருத்துக் காணப்படும். இது உண்பதற்கு இனிப்பாக இருக்கும். இதனை உண்பதால், குன்மம், வாந்தி வயிற்றுவலி, வயிற்றுப் பொறுமல் ஆகிய நோய்கள் நீங்கும்.
