Constituent:

  Tanin wax a Caoutchouc Like substance and a glucosidal principle having the properties of Saponin.

Action: 

Emetic, Germicide, Anti-periodice.

Uses:

Bark is emetic and laxative. Fruit is used as refrigerent and astringent. The decoction is used in the treat-ment of hepatic obstructions. Fruits and seeds in a dose of 15 to 30 grains, 3 to 4 times a day, act as antiperiodic. It is also used in the treatment of leprosy. It improves the lactation mother. It is also a uterine tonic.

பட்டை முறைக்காய்ச்சலை நிவர்த்திக்கும். இதன் பால் குஷ்டப்புண், கிரந்தி, தடிப்பு, புண் ஆகியவற்றிற்கு குணம் தரும். இளந்தாய்மார்களுக்கு பால் சுரக்கச்செய்யும். கரு வளர்க்கும்.
