Constituents:

The oxidized product of the Juice contains chiefly Indigotin or Indigo-blue

Action   : 

Stimulant, Antiperiodic, Analgesic, Germicide Alexipharmic and Antidote.

Uses:

It is the ideal drug for the intestinal disorders.It has got anti-venan property and it is also used in Leucorrhoea.The seeds are herbal contraceptive, anti-rabis, anti-epileptic. This could be given for stomachache also.The leaves are used to treat arthritis, gout, snake bite. This darkens the hair and improves the night blindness.

The extract root is used in Dracunculous medinesis. It has got a strong anti-toxic property. It is also given to relieve Venerial heat and ulcer.

Tablets made out of Avry leaf with equal quantity of root bark, pepper and asafotida, if consumed twice a day for three to five days, it cures Dracunculous medinesis.

Indigo is made out of Avri leaves and it is been exported to foreign countries.

வயிற்றில் தோன்றும் எந்த பிணிக்கும் இது நல்ல மருந்து. விஷக்கடி, மூர்ச்சை, வெள்ளை விழுதல் போன்றவற்றை நல்ல முறையில் குணமாக்கும். விதை கர்ப்பத்தடை செய்யும். நாய்க் கடியை குணப்படுத்தும், காக்கை வலிப்பு, வயிற்றுவலி குணமாகும்.

இலை கீல்வாதம், ஜன்னி, சர்பவிஷம் நீக்கும். தலை முடியைக் கருக்கச் செய்யும். மாலைக்கண் குணப்படும்.

வேர் நரம்புச் சிலந்தியைக் குணப்படுத்தும். வேர் எல்லா விஷங்களையும் முறிக்கும். இதை குடிநீர் வைத்துக் குடிக்க சுரமூச்சை, குன்மநோய் முதலிய நோய்களைப் போக்கும்.

அவுரி இலை, வேர்ப்பட்டை மிளகு, பெருங்காயம் ஆகியவை களை சமஎடை எடுத்து நன்றாக அரைத்து சிறு மாத்திரைகளாக செய்து நாள் ஒன்றுக்கு காலை ஒன்று மாலை ஒன்றாக 3 முதல் 5 நாள் கொடுத்து, உப்பில்லா பத்தியம் வைக்க நரம்புச் சிலந்தி குணமாகும்,

இதையே ஈரமாயிருக்கையில் நரம்புச் சிலந்தி தோன்றிய விடித்து வைத்துக் கட்டலாம்.

அவுரியிலிருந்து நீலச்சாயம் தயாரிக்கிறார்கள். இது கட்டி களாக்கப்பட்டு வெளிநாடுகளுக்கு ஏற்றுமதி செய்யப்படுகின்றது.
