Constituents:

It contains alangine, lamarkine, Alkoline and Alanginine.

Action:

Dia-Alterative. Diuretic, Anthelmentic, Emetic. Laxative, Nauseant, Nutritive and phoretic

Uses:

Root bark is an anti-dote for several poisons, Rubbed in rice water it is given with a little honey in diarrhoea. It has a reputation in leprosy, syphilitic and other skin diseases. Root in infusion is given with ghee for dog bites and snake bites. It increases the bile secretion and decrease the blood-pressure.

அழிஞ்சில் பட்டை சாரத்தினால் இலிங்கம் சுத்தியாகும். கீழ் வரும் குஷ்டம், வாத கோபம், கபதோஷம் தீரும். பித்தம் அதிகரிக்கும். இரத்த கொழுப்புத் தணியும். பாம்புக் கடி. நாட்பட்ட விஷம் நீக்கும். பெருங்குடலில் உள்ள புழு பூச்சியை வெளியாக்கும். கண் பார்வை சரியாக இதனின்று மை தயாரிக்கலாம்.
