Uses:

 Milky juice and leaves of this tree exhibits medicinal properties This caros abscess and bubos. Latex is used as an external application on boils which beals it very fast. Heated leaves are also used externally on ulcers. This is very poisonous. It should not be taken internally.

நிலப் பாலை தென்னிந்தியாவில் சாதாரணமாக பயிரா கின்ற கொடி வகைகளில் ஒன்று. இதன் கொடி வளர வளரத் துவனத் தொடங்கும். பூவானது மணியைப் போலவும், நீல நிறமாகவும் இருக்கும். இலையைக் கிள்ளினாலும், கொடியை உடைத் தாலும் பால் வெளிப்படும். பால் வடியுத் தன்மை இருப்பதனால், இக்கொடியை இரப்பர் கொடி எனச் சொல்லுவர். இதன் இலை. பால் மருத்துவ குணமுடையன.

நாள் இது கட்டிகளையும், அரையாப்புக் கட்டிகளையும் கரைக்கும். இதன் பாலைக் கட்டியின்மீது தடவிவர, கட்டி நாளுக்கு கரைத்து மறையும். பழுத்திருந்தால் உடையும். இதன் இலையை அரைத்துப் புற்கை செய்து கட்டிகளுக்கு வைத்துக் கட்டலாம். இம்மூலிகை கெந்தகத்தை நீற்றும். இது கடுமையான விஷத்தன்மைக் கொண்டது.
