   The fresh vegetable contains moisture and the completely dried material contains albuminoids, corbohydrates and ash.

Action:

Ripe fruits are Purgative. Tender fruits are Refrigerant, Aphrodisiac. Laxative, Stimulant and aphrodisiac

Uses:

This is a climber. Fruits are long and green in colour. This is called snake guard. This is used commonly as vegetable.

புடலங்காய் கொடி வகையைச் சேர்ந்தது. காய்கள் நீண்டு பச்சையாகத் தொங்கும். இது அன்றாட சமையலில் பயன்படுவ தால் ஏராளமாக பயிரிட்டு வருகிறார்கள். இவ்வினத்தில் கொத்துப் டல். நாய்ப்புடல், பன்றிப்புடல். பேய்ப்புடல் என பலவகை உண்டு. இவைகளுள் கொத்துப்புடல், நாய்ப்புடல் இவ்விரண்டும் குத்துச்செடியாக வளரும். பன்றிப்புடல் கொடியாக இருந்த . போதிலும். புடலின்காயைப் போலன்றி, நீளம் குறுகியதாக இருக்கும். பேய்ப்புடல் மிகவும் கசப்புடையது. அதனால் இதனை உண்பதில்லை.
