Uses:

The stalks of this plant soaked in water is treated with other chemicals to get Berberine alkaloid. This is

used in many medicines. The powder of the stick which is poured in the water is boiled and made into a paste. Butter is mixed with this paste and this mixture is used externally to cure pimples. This is exported from India. Dye prepared from this is used in textiles. This is also used as an ingredient in the medicines prepared for piles, difficulty in breathing. fatigue and giddiness.

மரமஞ்சள் குச்சிகளை தண்ணீரில் ஊறவைத்து, சில இரசா யனங்களைச் சேர்த்து “பெர்பரின்” (Berberine) அல்கலாய்டு தயாரிக்கிறார்கள். இது பல மருந்துகளில் பயன்படுகிறது. மரமஞ்சள் குச்சியை அரைத்து அதன் தூளைத் தண்ணீரில் ஊறவைத்து வரும் தண்ணீரைக் கொதிக்க வைத்து பாகு பதத்தில் இறக்கி அதனுடன் சுத்தமான வெண்ணெயைக் கலந்து, முகப்பருவுக்கான களிம்பைத் தயாரிக்கலாம்.

இந்தியாவிலிருந்து ஏற்றுமதியாகும் மூலிகைகளுள் இதுவும் ஒன்று என்பதிலிருந்து இதன பொருளாதாரச் சிறப்பைத் தெர்ந்து கொள்ளலாம். இதிலிருந்து தயாரிக்கப்படும் மஞ்சன் சாயம், ஆடைத் தயாரிப்பு ஆலைகளுக்குப் பயனாகிறது. தவிர மூல நோய் மருந்து களிலும், உட்சுவாசம், ஆயாசம், மயக்கம் நீக்கும் மருந்துகளிலும் மரமஞ்சள் உபசரக்காகச் சேர்க்கப்படுகிறது.
