Uses:

It occurs only in the areas where water is available. Root tuber of this herb exhibits medicinal proper-ties. This cures venereal diseases, stomach ache and ricket fever. This is also used as refrigerant.

5 ml. of oil made out of the tuber if given twice daily improves skin. If taken in the morning in recommanded quantity cures rheumatoid arthritis, osteo arthritis and paraplegia. Oil is used externally to cure ulcers and oedema. If consumed before bed regularly for twenty days cures piles, flatulency, dyspepsia and ascites. This also cures stomach ache, piles, phlegmatic disorders and diabetes.

கனில் செழித்து வளருகின்றது. தோட்டங்களிலும் பயிரிடப்பட்டு வருகின்றது, இதன் இலை, சேம்பினுடையதை விட மிகப் பெரிதாய் நீண்டு பருமனுள்ள தண்டுகளோடுங் கூடி இருக்கும். கிழங்கு அடி தண்டிலிருந்தே பூமிக்குள்ளிறங்கி பல பக்க வேர்களுடன் உலக்கைப் போன்றிருக்கும்.

இதனால் மேகநோய், வயிற்று நோய், மூலம், ஈளை நோய். எலும்புருக்கிச் சுரம், ஐயப் பெருக்கு ஆகியவைகள் நீங்கும்.உடல் குளிர்ச்சியடையும்.

இதனால் செய்யப்படும் தைலத்தை காலை, மாலை இரு வேளையும் சாப்பிட்டு, மேலுக்குத் துவாலையிட்டு மெதுவுறப். பிடித்து வர ஐயசுரம் விலகிப் போகும். (மெருகுத் தைலம்) இதை உடல் வன்மை அறிந்து தினம் காலையில் மாத்திரம் கொடுத்து வர கீல்களை அசையவொட்டாமல் செய்கிற கீல்வாயு, முடக்கு வாயு, நரித்தலை வாயு முதலிய நோய்களும், தளிர்போலக் கிளர்ந்து வருகின்ற புண்களும், வன்மையுள்ள வாயுவின் வீக்கமும் குண் மாகும். மெருகுள்ளித் தைலத்தை படுக்கைக்குப் முன் 50 நாள் வரையில் குடித்து வர மூலம், மூலவாயு, குன்மம், உட்சுவிச்சு, பெருவயிறு போன்ற நோய்களும் நீங்கும். மேலும் வயிற்று வலி, மூலம், கபநோய், பிரமேகம் முதலிய நோய்களும் தணியும்
