Constituents:

A yellow neutral fat, an alkaloid, an organic acid and saline substances

Action:

Tonic, Alterative, Febrifuge, Anthelmintic and Antiphlogistic.

Uses:

Infusion of leaves gives relief in fever, internal heat, bronchitis, cough and rheumatism. Powdered plant along with hot water improves fertility. Mixed with garlic and cumin along with milk cures fever and nervous. debility. Infusion made out of this plant and basil leaves gives relief in indigestion and diarrhoea accompanied with fever.

Leaves along with garlic and cumin are made into a paste. This is given to cure nervous debility.

விஷ்ணுக்கிரந்திச் செடியினால், சுரம், உட்சூடு, கோழை, இருமல், வாதநோய்கள் தீரும். இந்நோய்கள் தீர இலை, பூண்டைக் குடிநீரிட்டுக் கொடுக்க வேண்டும்.

இச்செடியை நிழலில் உலர்த்தி பொடித்து இளவெந்நீருடன் சேர்த்து குடித்துவரின் ஆண், பெண் மலட்டுத்தன்மை நீங்கும். இப்பூண்டுடன் சீரகம் சேர்த்தரைத்துப் பாலில் கலக்கிக் குடிக்க சுரம், நரம்புத் தளர்ச்சி நீங்கும். இச்செடியுட துளசி சேர்த்துக் குடிநீரிட்டு உண்டுவர செரியாமை, கழிச்சலோடு கூடிய சுரம் ஆகியவை நீங்கும்.

கைப்பிடியளவு விஷ்ணுக்கிரந்தி இலையுடன் மூன்று வெள்ளைப்பூண்டு பற்கள், அரைத் தேக்கரண்டியளவு சீரகம் சேர்த்து மைபோல அரைத்து நரம்புத் தளர்ச்சிக்கு கொடுக்க ஆண்குறி நரம்புகள் பலப்பட்டு ஆண்தன்மை உண்டாகும்.
