Climbing shrub.
Parts used:
Fruit and seeds.
Constituents:
Oil is extracted from this seeds.
Action:
Seed are Vermifuge. Fruit is Refrigerant.
Uses:
Seeds are bitter, they are powdered and mixed with gingelly oil used as a vermifuge. Seed oil is used as an antidote for scorpion sting and snake bites. Seed oil if applied regularly acts as a hair tonic. Leaves are used externally on healing ulcers and wounds. If taken internally gives relief from dyspepsia and amenorrhoca.
பேய்த்தும்மட்டி, படர்கொடி ஆகும். இப்படர் கொடியின் விதை கசப்புச் சுவையுடையது. தும்மட்டியை நல்லெண் ணெயில் கலந்து கீரிபூச்சிக்காகக் கொடுக்கலாம். விதை எண்ணெய் பாம்புக்கடி, தேள்கடி ஆகியவற்றிற்கு குணம் தரும். கருப்பாக வளரும். இலை புண்,இரணம் ஆற்றும், குன்மம், சூதகக் சுட்டு குணமாக்கும்.
