Constituents:
Dried leaves contains theine its chief alkaloid which is identical with caffine and sannin.
Action:
Decoction of the dried powdered leaves is Stim-ulant, Diuretic and Astringent. In some it prevents sleep and causes mental irritability.
Uses:
The decoction of tea gives instant energy and gives strength to teeth. The poisonous alkaloid of tea known as theine is bad for health. The infusion of the seed is used in treating insect bites.
தேயிலைக் கஷாயம் சுறுசுறுப்பைத்தரும். பற்களுக்கு ஆரோக் கியத்தை தரும். இதில் ஒரு வித சுண்ணவிஷம் இருப்பதால் இதன் நன்மையைவிட உடலுக்கு தீமையே அதிகம். இதன் விதை குடிநீர் பூச்சிக் கடிக்கு சிறந்த மருந்தாகும்.
