Constituents:
Oil is expressed from the rind of the fruit. It contains citrene or limonene, Citrol, Cyment and Citroneleal
Action:
Yellow pulp is Stomachic. Rind is Aromatic, Stimulant, Tonic, and Antiscorbutic, Fruit juice is Refrigerant, Astringent, Digestive, Antitoxic. Aromatic and Stomachic,
Uses:
There are differnt varieties in it and some of them are much useful in medicines. It is used in pickles. Sharbat made out of this fruits gives relief in fevers, biliousness, thirstyness and vomiting. Juice along with water, removes burning sensation of the stomach. This is also used as stomachic and diuretic. This reduces the blood pressure. Kernal of the seeds if taken internally said to have some effect on snake bite. Sharbat if taken regularly cures rheumatism and flatulence and acts as an anthelmintic. aphrodisiac and tonic.
நாரத்தை பழத்தின் இரசத்தைச் சர்க்கரையில் சேர்த்து சர்பத் செய்து சாப்பிட காய்ச்சல், பித்தாதிக்கம், தாகம், வாந்தி முதலிய நோய்கள் போகும். இதை நீரில் சாப்பிட எரிச்சல் குணமாகும். மேலும் இது இரப்பைக்கு பலத்தை கொடுப்பதுடன் சிறுநீரை தாராளமாக இறங்கச் செய்யும். இரத்தக் கொதிப்பை அகற்றும். இதன் கொட்டையின் பருப்பைத் தின்ன பாம்பு விஷம் இறங்கும். இதன் சர்பத்தை தொடர்ந்து உட்கொள்ள வாதநோய், வயிற்றுப் பொருமல் தணிக்கும். மலக்கிருமிகளை வெளியாக்கும். சுக்கில் விருத்தி செய்வதுடன் உடலை ஆரோக்கியமாக்கும்.
