Action:

Cooling. Stimulant, Stomachic, Emollient.

Uses:

The juice of the plant is used externally as an application in ulcerated conditions of the throat and mouth, leucorrhoea, and as a wash for ulcers, sores, etc. Because of its astringency it is much recommended in diarr-hoea, dysentery and haemorrhages of the bowels.

The stem of this plant is a nutritious food. Tender leaf could be cooked and it gives relief from biliary disorders. The cooked stem gives relief from dysentery, gleet, oedema, piles and regulates the menstrual flow.

இச்செடியின் தண்டே ஒரு முக்கிய உணவாகும். இளம் இலைகளையும் சமைத்துண்பர். இதன் கீரை பித்தத்தை தணிக்கும் குணமுடையது. பசுமையான தண்டுகளை சமைத்துண்ண மேகச்சூடு, வயிற்றுக் கடுப்பு, இரத்தபேதி, நீர்க்கட்டு, நீர்ச்சுருக்கு, மூலக்கடுப்பு, பெரும்பாடு ஆகியவற்றை குணப்படுத்தும்.
