Stem and root of this grass exhibit medicinal properties. Juice of the stem cures, hysteria, vomiting, tastelessness, abdominal disorders, wheezing and dropsy.

புல்லினத்தைச் சேர்ந்த இதன் தண்டும் வேரும் மருத்துவப் பயனுடையது.

தண்டின் சாற்றினால் வெறி நோய், வாந்தி, சுவையின்மை, வயிற்றிலெழும் நோய், இரைப்பு, பாண்டு இவை நீங்கும்.

மேலும் இதன் வேரினால் விக்கல், கடியும், கபசுரம் குணமாகும். காயகல்பங்களில் ஒன்று.
