Action:Aromatic, Stomachic, Carminative, Stimulant and Vulnerary.

Uses: The roots exhibit medicinal property. An  aromatic preparation is made from this plant. This is also used to cure rigidity of the joints. This induces sweating and gives energy. The root oil prevents hair falling and helps for the growth. The decoction of the root is used in rigidity of the joints, fever, flatulency in the womb, biliousness, jaundice. anaemia, leprosy, spermatorrhoea, unconciousness to arthritis and phlegmatic diseases of the eyes, The extract could be used as an external application for dracunculous medinensis of the breast and venereal ulcer The soaked root infusion cures stomach ache and fever. The oil given along with sugar stops vomiting. due

இதன் வேர் மருத்துவப் பயனுடையதாகும். இதன் புல்லினின்று ஒரு வாசனைத் தைலம் எடுப்பர். இந்த எண்ணெயை கை கால் பிடிப்புக்குப் பூச குணப்படும். வேர்வையை உண்டாக்குவ துடன், உற்சாகத்தைத் தரும். தலைமயிர் விழாமல் காப்பதுடன் வளரச்செய்யும். இதன் கஷாயம் சுரத்திற்கும், கைகால் பிடிப்பு, சூதக வாயுவுக்கும் உபயோகப்படும்.

பித்த ரோகம், காமாலை, சோகை, சுரம், ருட்டம், தலை நோய், கழுத்து நோய், சுக்கில நட்டம், உன்மத்தம், திரிதோட மூர்ச்சை, நேத்திர ரோகம் முதலிய நோய்கள் குணமாகும். இதை ஸ்திரீகளுக்கு ஸ்தனங்களில் காணும் சிலந்தி, அக்கினி விரணம் வித்திரக்கட்டி, மேகக்கட்டி இவைகளுக்கு மேல் பூச்சாக உபயோகித் குணப்படும்.

இதன் ஊறல் கஷாயம் வயிற்றுநோய், சுரம் முதலியவற்றை குணப்படுத்தும். எண்ணெயைச் சர்க்கரையில் கவந்து கொடுக்க  ஊழிநோயில் உண்டாக்கும் வாத்தியை நிறுத்தும், இவ்லெண்ணெயை அனேக தையங்களிலும், பித்தசாத்திக்குரிய லேகிய சூரணங்களிலும் சேர்ப்பர்.
