Root containa Chrysophanic acid.

Action:

Purgative, Catharsis and Stomachic, Bitter and tonic. Anti-rheumatic,

Uses:

It in used in simple Diarrhoea, But not in constipation. Combined with ginger it is given in the form of pill in cases where the bowls are sluggish. Mixed with grey powder it is given for the irritation of the bowls in chronic dysentry and in deudanal catarrah.

இது மஞ்சட் சீன கிழங்கு, பேதிகிழங்கு. மஞ்சட்கிழங்கு எனவும் கூறப்படுகிறது. இதில் நாட்டு இரவேல் சின்னி என்ற ஒரு வகையுண்டு, இரண்டின் குணங்களும் ஒன்றே ஆகும். இதை பேதியாவதற்குக் கொடுப்பார்கள். மூல நோயுள்ளவர்கள் இதனை உட்கொள்ளக் கூடாது. மேலும் இதனை உட்கொள்வதால் குடல் சுத்தியாகும். வீரிய விருத்தித்தரும். வாதம் தணியும்.
