Volatile oil, gum-resin and bitter principle.

Action:

Demulcent, Aperent, Alterative, Gum is : Carminative, Anti-spasmodic and Emmenagogue.

Uses:

Guggul gum is used in rheumatism, nervous disorders, scrofulous affections, urinary disorders and skin diseases. Mixed with lime juice or coconut oil it is applied as analgesic application in rheumatism. It is used in decoction as gargle in curries of the teeth, weak and spongy gums, pyorrhoea alueclaris, chronic tonsillitis and pharynyitis and ulcerated throat.

As an intestinal disinfectant, it cures chronic catarrh of the bowels chronic colitis, tubercular ulceration of the bowels and diarshoca.

It is also used in treating leprosy, anaemia, neuras-thenia debility and allied conditions. This relieves nervous pain.

குக்கலின் மரப்பிசின் மருத்துத் தன்மையுடையது. இது வாத நோய், நரம்புக் கோளாறுகள், மூத்திரப்பை கோளாறுகள், கண்டமாலை, தோல் நோய்கள் ஆசியவற்றை குணப்படுத்தும். இதை எலுமிச்சம்பழச் சாற்றிலோ தேங்காய் எண்ணெயிலோ இழைத்து நடய வாத வலியைப் போக்கும். இதன் கஷாயத்தைக் கொண்டு வாய் கொப்பளிக்க, பல் சொத்தை, வீக்கம், பல் கோளாறுகள், தொண்டையில் சதை வளாச்சி ஆகியவை தீருவ துடன் தொண்டைப் புண்கள் ஆறும்.

மேலும் இது வயிற்று கோளாறுகளையும் புண்களையும் வயிற்று வலியையும் குணப்படுத்தும். இதை உட்கொள்ள தொழு நோய்காரர்களின் உடல் பலம் பெறும். மேலும் சோபை, மன வியாதிகள், நரம்பு வியாதிகள் தீரும். நரம்பு வலி குணமாகும்.
