It is Demulcent, Laxative and Nutrient.

Uses:

Fruit is largely consumed by the rich in various forms of chutney. It acts also as a refrigent, laxative, especi-ally when taken on empty stomach. It is useful in cases of torpid and hepatitis. Oil prepared from the seeds resembles apricot-kernal oil and is edible.

ஆல்பகோடா பழம் சற்று புளிப்பான பழம். ஆல்பகோடா மரம் சிறியது. இதன் பழம் நல்ல மருந்து. இது உடற்சூட்டைத் தணித்து மலத்தை இளக்குகிறது. புளிப்புச் சுவையுள்ள இது காய்ச்சல் காரணமாக நாக்கு சுவையிழந்து விடும்போது சுவையை மீட்க உதவும்.பித்தக் கோளாறுகளை இது சமனப்படுத்தும். பித்தநீரை பேதியாக வெளியாக்கும்.
